LOVE as Performance Art

Thank you, Sarah. Such a simple act of giving me this cookie, your grandma's scrumptious heart-shaped cookie. It filled me up --- my tummy, my heart.

WORK IN PROGRESS

If you are like myself, you have on-going projects in various stages...all waiting for the right time to "mature" (shall we say) into a finished state. Working in the fast-paced world of fashion and trying to meet impossible deadlines, I am left with very little time for my little babies.

Finishing these projects is a challenge which I intend to meet this year! So...instead of going into my self-induced coma every day after work, I will inspire myself into actively finishing these projects. One project per weekend is quite workable, methinks so...don't you? Let's see. I would have enough gifts to give away for birthdays and Christmas.

I have treasures found which need to be re-designed or re-purposed. Of course, work provides a lot of inspiration to do that. In my treasure trove: fine Indian laces so delicate like dragonfly wings, hand crocheted laces, fushchia silk organza embellished with bling-bling, French seed beaded evening bags, embroidered felt wool jacket needing to be refitted, lace yardages to be made into lovely cocktail dresses, various balls of Italian yarn waiting to metamorphose into the perfect sweaters/arm-warmers/hats...it makes me dizzy just thinking about it. And then, there's Mom's St. John suits that I would love to jazz up with some re-fitting. The fine silk gauze embroidered lace tablecloth needs to be...left alone? Or turned into a fabulous dress I envision wearing while walking along the beach.

Little steps, one-at-a-time. Photographs to follow.

Oh! Have I mentioned I have a husband, two cats, three dogs, three children - not in order of acquisition? If I didn't have the husband to keep me in check, I would have a lot more animals and adopt more children...but that's just me :)
